An excellent resource for the first-time buyer, East Central Georgia Partner’s In Homeownership Home Buyer Workshops provide a general overview of the home buying process, with presentations given by real estate, mortgage, and other housing professionals.

At a group home buyer workshop, you will learn:

1. The steps needed to purchase a home
2. Personal benefits and responsibilities of homeownership
3. About the programs in your area for first-time buyers, and
4. What to expect from housing professionals

The free workshops are conducted once per month. They begin at 9:00 a.m., include a free lunch, and conclude at 2:00 p.m. The location of the workshops is Peabody Apartments, 1425 Walton Way, Augusta, GA 30901.

Completing a workshop is often a prerequisite to access first-time home buyer assistance. Our trainers are DCA/HUD approved, and attendees who complete all of the class hours receive a certificate that may be used for programs such as Georgia Dream, Dream Augusta, Antioch, and Promise Land. Please note that receiving a certificate does not guarantee loan approval. Borrowers must qualify based on program-specific guidelines.
